My recent TV Appearance

My recent TV Appearance

Celebrating #independenceday by letting go of expectations.
I wrote this song with its fairy tale theme about letting go of judgements I place on my past, and the expectations I have for my future. The story is of your life is much more exciting when you let it unfold. Cut the strings and free yourself from writing your story. Life is exciting when you simply let it unfold!
This video is from my recent appearance on #streetchicksinrecovery @StreetChicks on#CTN Street Chicks in Recovery, LLC is an educational community resource company, hiring and training women in recovery, leading the way in economic freedom and artistic expression. Hosted and founded by Leslie Robinson. For more information on the program and its founders see their website at http://www.streetchicks.net/

Puppet
Painted cardboard, purple, blue and green
I direct my own shows, crafted puppet scenes.
Fair Rapunzel don’t let down your hair,
On the way out, they might lock the stares.
Where’s your rescue, he’s long overdue
One more kiss might turn his heart to you.
Close your eyes girl, can you spin hay to gold?
Play your cards right, they might buy what you’ve sold.
You went searching for answers.
You kissed your frogs but now look whose Pinocchio
Cut those strings but that don’t make you real
Are you still made of wood, just pretending that you’re good
just a pawn in your old mans show?
Why not surrender that old man and see that the past that has bound you will go.
If you abandon your tugging and you could be free,
and then you’ll be puppet no more.
So Why ya dragging cinders all around
While you’re dangling there 10 feet off the ground
You’re always preaching who you want to be
Cinderella why don’t you live like your free
Girl tell me, what’d you do with the answers?
If you are what you eat well they only see what you show
Pruned and Pretty but are you for real,
or are you still made of wood, just pretending that you’re good,
just a pawn in your old man show?
Come and surrender that old man and see that the past that has bound you will go.
If you abandon your tugging girl you could be free,
and then you’ll be puppet no more.
